Camera Gear

Since I began my endeavor into photography with a Digital SLR I have been using all Nikon equipment. Below is a list of my cameras, lenses, and other accessories.

Nikon D300:

I recently upgraded to the Nikon D300 from the Nikon D50. The D300 was just released in January 2008 and has become known for its high performance in low light and high resolution. I am extremely pleased with this body and I utilize many of its more advanced features. Recently I have benefited from both the “auto iso” and “double exposure” functions.

Nikon D50:

The Nikon D50 was purchased as an introductory body. It is inexpensive and allowed me to settle into to digital slr photography. I still use this camera as a second body but it does not compare to the D300.

Nikon 10.5 mm f2.8 Fisheye:

I purchased this lens in January 2010 after using it for Widespread Panic’s New Year’s performance. I have been in love with it ever since.

Nikon 70-200 VR f2.8:

I just purchased this lens, after renting it for a night, I had to have it. It is extremely fast and extremely sharp. Below is a link to an album where I used this lens for the majority of a concert.

Lowe Pro Rover AWII

This is an amazing camera backpack. I have used this pack on all my trips including Israel and the Caribbean. It is discrete enough that people cannot tell if you have regular back pack or one made to carry thousands of dollars worth of camera gear. This bag will hold several average sized lenses, the camera body, and has a top pouch which can be used as day pack. I purchased the Rover AWII from Amazon for around $120. I highly recommend this bag to the traveling photog.
