It has been some time since I had some verbage in my blog postings, so here goes nothing….
Last night, I made the trek to Marietta, GA in order to see an up and coming alternative rock band called FERVOR. This 3 piece comprised of Justin Little (drums), Nate Sturge (bass, vocals), and Low Kung (guitar, vocals) has been playing local gigs for sometime and has even managed to pull off a few tours across the US. I have seen FERVOR on numerous occasions, as my girlfriend is close friends with them, and each time I am treated to an energetic satisfying performance.
On this trip, I was fortunate to have my camera and a borrowed tripod in the trunk of my car. My goal was to capture the vigor and emotion of a FERVOR show. This task would not be easy as the bar, Three Bears, was dimly lit and left little choice but to take full band shots during the 1 hour set. I took some standard shots of the group but opted to experiment with long exposures for the majority of the night. The long exposures (mostly 15 and 30 seconds a piece) helped to increase the vibrance and brightness of the stage lighting as well as showing the movement of the band and the crowd that cheered them on.
